Welcome to the art of Lillian Sarafinchan.
A daughter of Vegreville, Alberta, Lillian's talent was
noticed early. A local artist, Laura Evans Reid, quietly
entered her paintings in a provincial competition. They
won and she was awarded the first of her 8 scholarships
to the Banff School of Fine Art. There, she studied under
H.G. Glyde and W.J. Phillips. Lillian continued her studies
at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, where her mentor
was Jock MacDonald.
First working in oils and later in watercolour inks, her
lyrical, abstract paintings glow with an organic flow of
colour and hue seldom explored.
Lillian has had 23 solo exhibitions in major galleries.
